Lidija Zaneripa, “
Double Dipping
”, temporary sculpture happening
28 May 2026, 19:00
The act of dipping food, taking a bite, and daring to put that same half-eaten piece right back into the dip. Are you a confident double dipper?
Prepare to get your hands dirty, and lose your sense of arrival along the way. You only get lost once you expect to arrive somewhere. Touch. Reshape. Damage. Rebuild. Misuse. Or completely transform the sculptures and installation elements throughout the event. Together with Lidija Zaneripa, visitors are invited to step into her artistic process of working with found and recycled materials — exploring textures, structures, and the shifting meanings objects acquire through use, misuse, and transformation. At the same time, it offers space to reflect on what kinds of cultural, social, or political “double dipping” we participate in every day.
Research has found that the number of bacteria in the ideas increases significantly after dipping the same idea twice.
Free admission
Language: English
Duration: until the last dip
Lidija Zaneripa is a Riga-based artist who primarily creates and documents ready-made sculptures and found still-lifes. Her approach centers on the study of spontaneously found, recycled materials, focusing on their texture and structural qualities, and the transformation of objects in use, form, and meaning. By combining various media, including images, video installations, and sculptural objects, she often explores seemingly trivial motifs and presents them in unexpected angles. Since 2024, Lidija has been a member of the independent artist-run space DOM gallery and actively participates in interdisciplinary exhibitions and art events across Latvia and abroad.
The residency and event are supported by ifa (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen).
