Nullfrequenza (Vusala Hajiyeva), “Beats, Bars and Resistance”, lecture-performance, live music
12 April 2025, 19:00
Hip-hop has long been a space for resistance—but for women, and especially trans women, it remains a battleground. Vusala Hajiyeva began rapping as a teenager, but stepped away from the scene for nearly a decade during her transition, wary of rejection in an already exclusionary culture. Now based in Berlin, she’s working on her debut album, blending raw personal storytelling with incisive social commentary. This performance serves as both an introduction to that album and a reflection on the journey behind it—what it means to claim space in a genre that so often tries to silence voices like hers.
