Spring Program 2025
BERLIN, CAUSERIE AND EFFECT, UPCOMINGFor the upcoming program, Pickle Bar revisits its foundational metaphor: the bar as a site where knowledge is crafted, exchanged, and intellectually "fermented," a place where conversations are savored and ideas collectively digested. Causerie and Effect looks more particularly to explore the shadows in which words and scripts are often conceived as resistance idioms. Through the metaphor of causerie, the project delves into the contemporary literary and cultural landscapes to explore the performative potential of readership and spoken word, its essence, methods. From recent hybridations, transformations in the language, or reclaiming the space for inclusive scripts, the program explores the potential of informal talks, rumors, hearsay to become site of solidarity. Inviting poets, artists, writers and researchers, the project spans the gaps which often separate visual arts with literature, poetry and graphic design through a program of performances, workshops and a 2-days assembly.
Supported by Stiftung Kunstfond and Beauftragten der Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien.
