25 October 2024, 18:30

BERLIN, COLLABORATIONS, UPCOMING

"Portable Landscapes: Reflections on Migration from the Baltic Region" is proposed by the Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art (LCCA), in collaboration with the Kai Art Centre and the Mo Museum.

The event will bring together Baltic artists Viktor Timofeev, Maria Kapajeva, Agnė Juodvalkytė, and Artūrs Punte to explore contemporary issues of migration, identity, and language. Through discussions, performative gestures, and screenings, the artists will delve into the historical connections between migration and the region's past, examining its influence on current societal dynamics. Additionally, the event will address language as both an element of the migration experience and a lingering mark of Russian colonialism on the Baltic social and political landscape.

The event is part of the LCCA's "Portable Landscapes" project, curated by Andra Silapētre and Inga Lāce. "Portable Landscapes: Reflections on Migration from the Baltic Region" is supported by the Baltic Culture Fund.
